I am honored to have been chosen as one of the Unsung Community Heroes at the Monrovia Duarte Alumni Association (MDBAA) Scholarship Gala this year along with some other amazing Unsung Community Heroes, Typhanie Robinson, Barbara Gholar, Judith Williams, Chris Loos, Elouise Tye, and the late Larry Walls.
When I set out to start Heroes of Humanity Foundation and dedicate my life to the service of the people. It was never my intentions to be one of those organizations that sought out acknowledgement or praise for my work in the community. That`s why I always chose to stay more in the background. To say that I`m not proud of this acknowledgement though. Would be dishonest and disrespectful to those put so much hard work, time, and energy to those who sacrifice for others.
I want to thank Monrovia Duarte Black Alumni Association (MDBAA) for the recognition. I truly appreciate this acknowledgement. More importantly, I want to thank and honor you for all that you do for the community and for your dedication to helping so many underprivileged kids to reach their dreams of going to college every year. You are an inspiration and example to us all on leading by example. We are proud of you and all the amazing members of your organization.
For the future, I`m extremely motivated to do more to ignite lasting change, uplift communities, and empower individuals. HEROES OF HUMANITY FOUNDATION will always be dedicated to the people!
